Seth Wealing and Helen Cospolich were awarded first place honors Sunday in the competitive 10K division at the Snowshoe Shuffle in Beaver Creek, Colo. The final event in the four-event Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series, the Snowshoe Shuffle was a benefit for the Shaw Regional Cancer Center. Held at Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park, an elevation of nearly 10,000 ft., nearly 800 snowshoers put their stompin’ snowshoes forward on behalf of cancer prevention, education and early detection.

The Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series wraps up its season this Sunday, April 5 with the Snowshoe Shuffle. Snowshoers will put their best feet forward for the Shaw Regional Cancer Center’s Snowshoe Shuffle benefiting cancer prevention, education and early detection. The final snowshoe event will be held at Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park, located at 10,000 feet with a spectacular backdrop of Colorado’s Gore Range and will include individual as well as team events.

Scott Gall and Keri Nelson were awarded first place honors Sunday in the competitive 10K division at the Jeremy Wright North American Championships in Beaver Creek, Colo. Taking place at Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park, an elevation of nearly 10,000 ft., the Championship snowshoe race was the third event in the four event Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series. 10K participants vied for the title of North American Snowshoe Champion, while all participants paid tribute to Vail’s Jeremy Wright, an avid snowshoer and local competitor who died in 2005 in Afghanistan while serving the United States Army.

Snowshoers will high step it up to Beaver Creek’s McCoy Park this Sunday, March 8 for the Jeremy Wright North American Snowshoe Championships. Taking place at an elevation of nearly 10,000 ft., McCoy provides a scenic backdrop for the third event in the four-event Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series.

Seth Wealing and Keri Nelson claimed first place Sunday in the competitive 10K division in the second Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series event held at Creekside Park at Beaver Creek Resort. On a Colorado bluebird day, Sunday’s snowshoe event hosted 388 participants, among the highest attendance the nine-year series has ever seen.

The ninth annual Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series will once again make its way to Beaver Creek Sunday, January 11; Sunday, February 8; Sunday, March 8 and Sunday April 5, 2009. The Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series is the largest annual snowshoe series of its kind in North America.
