Where are the races?

Go through the town of Avon, over the Eagle River, and you’ll come to the entrance of Beaver Creek. Please park (for free) in the Bear Lot (formerly known as the West Lot), in the Wolf Lot (directly above the Bear Lot) or the Rodeo Lots behind Chapel Square in Avon. Please follow the Beaver Creek Resort marked signage and/or ask parking lot staff for assistance.

When are the races?
All event activities start promptly at 11AM with the 5k and 10k starting at 11:15AM.

Are there separate classes? Which class should I participate in?
In descending order of intensity, each event offers the 10K run, the “East West 5K Quest,” Dash for Cash and the “Kids’ K.” To start, for the kids we offer a 1K trot, providing juniors an introduction to the wonderful sport of snowshoeing. Adult events kick off with the 10K and 5K races. Competitive runners should enter the 10K division. Keep in mind that 10K (6.2 miles) on snowshoes is much more challenging than 10K on pavement. The 5K division offers participants the option to walk or run in a much more casual, non-competitive environment, and is by far the most popular division in the series. The Dash for Cash is two separate sprints, one for men and one for women. The winner of each race receives $100 in cash.

Who wins prizes? What kind of prizes are there?
The overall top three finishers in the 10K divisions win cash. Overall top three in the 5K win merchandise prizes. Finally, everyone is eligible to win in the post-race raffle with prizes from many of our series sponsors.

How much are entry fees?
Pre-registration (Closes Day Before Each Race @ 5:00PM)- $25
Day of Race - $30
Snowshoe Shuffle - $35
Series Pass (all four events): $110* (Through Sun., January 11th)

May I preview the courses? When are they marked?
The courses are often partially marked the Thursday prior to the event. Maps are available on this site. You can snowshoe on the trails at any time.

I’ve never snowshoed before, is the Series for me?
Absolutely, courses are designed with participants of all ages and abilities in mind. The 10K loop is much more challenging than the 5K. The events are meant to have a broad appeal, and many discover a true love for the sport in these events. What’s more, Atlas Snow-Shoe Company provides complimentary snowshoes for you to use during the events if you have none of your own, or if you’d just like to try out the latest and greatest in snowshoe technology. Just check in with the Atlas at the start/finish area and they’ll fit you, provide some basic instruction, and set you up for a great event!

Where’s the best place for my family and friends to watch?
The start/finish areas of all the races typically provide the best viewing experience. All friends and family are welcome at the awards parties on the Beaver Creek Village Plaza, as well.

Can I take my child on the chairlift?
The Beaver Creek Lift department will no longer be able to accommodate infants on the chairlifts due to State Tramway Laws. “At no time may babies in backpacks or chest packs be loaded onto the lifts at Beaver Creek.”

Can I collect my prize if I am not present at the post-event party?
You must be present at the post-event party to collect your winning check or prize. Checks and prizes will not be held or sent at a later date.

Who does the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Adventure Series benefit?
The ever-popular Snowshoe Shuffle held on April 5th benefits Vail Valley non-profit Shaw Regional Cancer Center. The Shaw Regional Center is renowned for their innovative, high quality cancer treatment center that focuses on restoring the mind and the body, empowering cancer patients to become cancer survivors.

Where are the post-event parties?
The post-event parties will take place on the Beaver Creek Village Plaza adjacent to the ice rink. Food and beverage, prize presentations, and raffle will all take place immediately following each event.

What does my entry fee get me?
Aside from a great snowshoeing experience, your entry fee gets you a free drink and food provided by Subway following the race at the post-race party and entry into the valuable post-race raffle. If you sign up for the Season Pass by January 11th, you will also receive a FREE Gift valued at up to $50.00.
