The “sport” of Dummy Gelunde involves teams of up to three creating snowriding dummies attached to a pair of skis or a snowboard and launching them down an on-snow course in hopes of victory and sometimes the agony of defeat. Dummies are judged on air, creativity, style, takeoff and landing, and crowd response.

1st place $5,000
2nd place $1,500
3rd place $750

Imagination is vital, as dummy entries can include a solo dummy, or a dummy concoction. For ex., spectators may witness a cardboard box snowcat with a dummy inside attached to skis, or a ski patroller dummy. Anything goes, well almost.

Regulations forbid explosives, propellants, and living organisms of any kind. Dummies must be between 3’ and 7’ in height, no more than 4 feet wide, and less than 200 pounds.

Cost is just $50 per team. The competition is limited to 25 teams. All entrants should plan to arrive at Golden Peak no later than 10:00am to check in and get your dummies in place for the public pre-event viewing and voting. Thanks!
